Hey friend–I had the opportunity to second shoot a stunning Yosemite elopement in the incredible National Park. Yes, you read that right—Yosemite! From start to finish, the day was nothing short of a dream come true.
Sunrise at Glacier Point
Our day began bright and early—well, technically dark and early—with a 4 a.m. wake-up call. We made our way to Glacier Point just in time for the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was worth every lost minute of sleep. As the sun crept over the horizon, its golden rays illuminated Half Dome in the most breathtaking way. The soft, ethereal light created the perfect backdrop for the couple’s portraits, giving their photos a truly magical quality.
Watching the couple interact amidst such a stunning setting was something I’ll never forget. The love and excitement they shared mirrored the beauty of the landscape around us. The quiet of the early morning, combined with the grandeur of Yosemite, made for an atmosphere that felt almost otherworldly.
Coffee Break and Exploring Yosemite Valley
After wrapping up our Glacier Point session, we headed down into Yosemite Valley. But first—coffee! The Valley Starbucks became our little oasis for a much-needed caffeine boost (elopement photography requires fuel, after all). Once recharged, we ventured into the base camp area, where the scenery was just as captivating as you’d imagine.
The valley offered a completely different vibe, with towering cliffs, lush greenery, and golden sunlight streaming through the trees. It was the perfect spot to capture some more relaxed, sun-soaked moments with the couple. From intimate embraces to candid laughter, every frame felt like it belonged in a storybook.
Timeless Portraits and Joyful Moments
In total, we spent about six hours exploring Yosemite Valley and shooting in various iconic locations. Each spot we visited seemed more beautiful than the last. It was a true testament to how Yosemite is the ultimate destination for couples who want their elopement day captured in a way that feels both timeless and adventurous.
What made the day even more special was witnessing the joy and connection between the couple. Their excitement to be in such an awe-inspiring place—and to celebrate their love—was infectious. Being able to document their day was an absolute honor, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity.
